Resilient WASH
(Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
Safe water, dignified sanitation, and good hygiene are non-negotiable for survival, health, and community stability. RRUSA’s Resilient WASH approach goes beyond emergency water trucking and latrine construction. We design climate-resilient, conflict-sensitive, and gender-appropriate water systems including solar-powered boreholes, rainwater harvesting, and water safety plans. We work with communities to maintain infrastructure, manage water resources cooperatively (reducing inter-group tensions), and promote hygiene behaviour change. In fragile contexts, WASH services are delivered alongside protection and peacebuilding, ensuring that water committees represent diverse groups and that access does not become a source of conflict. Resilient WASH saves lives, supports livelihoods, and fosters the trust needed for long-term recovery.
